An evening at The Bath Festival with Guy Gunaratne and Kim Sherwood

I've had a quieter few weeks cracking on with book two (I'm 25% through the first draft!) so it was lovely to get out to chat about If I Die Before I Wake again this week.I did an event as part of The Bath Festival with fellow debut authors Guy Gunaratne and Kim Sherwood and we had a great evening discussing our roads to publication, our writing processes, inspirations and everything else in between.

Guy's In Our Mad and Furious City is out now and I'd highly recommend it - everyone has been talking about the extraordinary way he manages to present language in it (he talks about having written in the 'road dialect' of Neasden, where he grew up), but I was also really drawn into the plot and could barely put it down.Kim's Testament won the Bath Novel Award in 2016. It's a beautiful and very moving historical tale about a young woman who discovers the testimony her grandfather gave after surviving the death camps in Austria. It is out in July - and well worth a read!
