I read Toni Morrison’s Beloved in sixth form at school, again on my uni course and a third time for my creative writing MA! Hence all the highlighting and notes… one of the reasons I love this copy so much.

If I Die Before I Wake is a TOP 20 BESTSELLER! And other news…

The sales figures are in for the first week of If I Die Before I Wake being on the shelves and I’m thrilled to say that it went straight in at number 18 on the hardback fiction chart… making it a top 20 bestseller!

More than 1,400 hardbacks were sold – a fact that I am still trying to get my head around. Thank you, if you were one of the people who bought it.

Reviews, Australian bookshops and the If I Die Before I Wake e-book is released!

It’s been a busy week in If I Die Before I Wake land.

The e-book was released on Thursday – a week ahead of the hardback release on January 11. Book bloggers who received preview copies have been uploading their reviews to Amazon and I’ve been blown away by their comments. As I write this there are no less than 74 reviews – I’m so grateful to you all for posting them, and for taking the time to read the book and post on your own blogs about it.

UPCOMING EVENT: Vintage New Writers Evening in February 2018

On February 6, I’ll be at Foyles in Charing Cross Road, London for the Vintage New Writers Evening.

Pick up a slice of pizza and a drink with myself and two other debut authors, Imogen Hermes Gowar and Mary Lynn Bracht. We will be discussing our writing process, the road to publication and what lies beyond.

Whether you’re a budding writer yourself or simply interested in the creative processes of others, the focus of the night is on discovering new voices in contemporary literature, providing insight into how these authors write and what it’s like to be an author at the start of your career.
