Back home in the Bristol Post, appearing on BBC Radio Bristol and a review in the Sunday Express
Another fantastic week for If I Die Before I Wake!Obviously, there was the launch of the hardback version of the book, and the wonderful party that went with it - but this week has been great for many other reasons, too.The Bristol Post very kindly featured an article about the launch party in the paper the following day - it was lovely to be supported by the paper I worked at for eight years. My old editor Mike Norton also tweeted this photo of him buying a copy of the book. Three years ago, when I handed my notice in so that I could focus on writing If I Die, he surprised me by saying that he thought I could get published. Someone having faith in you at that stage is invaluable, and I've never forgotten it.
On Sunday I was surprised by a lovely review in the Sunday Express S Magazine - reviewer Jake Kerridge said: "It's the depiction of a man coping with being locked inside his own body that makes the book so memorable." Thanks, Jake!Yesterday I was on Steve Yabsley's lunchtime show on BBC Radio Bristol. You can listen again here - I'm on from about 37 minutes.Meanwhile, I've also had blogs appear on the Foyles website and book blogger Anne Cater's Random Things Through My Letterbox. The Foyles one is all about unique narrators, and the one I wrote for Anne is about My Life in Books - I had a lot of fun writing both of them!
