An update on my fourth novel

Author Emily Koch at her laptop

I've written before on here about the fourth novel I'm working on, so I thought it was time for a quick update.

Since my last post, the manuscript has gone through several more rounds of drafting and editing. I've also had a small number of beta readers read the book and give me their feedback, which has led to further changes and another round of revisions.

The novel is quite different from my previous books.

It is set in the US and moves into slightly different genre territory. Like my last novel, What July Knew, it isn't contemporary. But, as with all my books, I've tried to bring the reader characters with secrets, plenty of suspense and emotional depth.

For now, I'm keeping further details of the story under wraps, but I'm pleased to have reached this stage with it. It’s nearly ready to go off to my agent. I'll share more about the novel when there's something definite to tell you.

I post regular updates in my newsletter. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, join my VIP Readers Club - you’ll also get book, TV, film, and music recommendations along the way.
